Who's Lizzy?

A writer, mom, semi-great mountain biker, survivor of mental illness, and passionate advocate of the power of telling one's own story as a means to heal. Lizzy will never give up communicating to her audience the necessity and healing power of 'letting out your own raw effing story' no matter how scary it is.

My Background

For over 30 years, Lizzy has suffered from what she now calls her ‘Mental Cocktail’ (the mixture of which includes depression, body dysmorphic disorder, anxiety, highly sensitive person, perfectionism, quiet borderline personality disorder, competitiveness, and introversion - among others).

Lizzy has managed this colourful mixture of disorders by participating in over 500 therapy (mostly cognitive behavioural) sessions with mental health professionals, through incessant daily ‘self-talks’ and by ‘unlocking her inner Sherlock’ (a.k.a. researching mental illness using reputable sources) so that she can help herself!

She understands the difficulty of the deep 'soul work' involved in taking a cold, hard, yet tender, look at one's own current mental health condition (or one's past conflicts that linger 'inside').

Lizzy will never give up communicating to her audience the necessity and healing power of 'letting out your own raw effing story' no matter how scary it is.

She lives in the interior of British Columbia with her dog Lenny, Rosie the horse, her two incredible teenage children and wonderful husband.
